The Oscar de la Renta Pre-Spring 2024 Collection embodies the excitement of winter’s seasonal shift to spring, when wildlife reappears and blooms reemerge to paint the city in color again. Through a color story of vibrant hues and bold prints, Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia enliven elegant silhouettes, polished tailoring and sophisticated design techniques.
Florals invigorate the collection with multi-colored hollyhocks ascending from deep plum to fuchsia and soft pink, blossoming up the silhouette of a poplin tiered mini dress. Gardenias adorn an ivory crochet shift dress and a guipure eyelet off the shoulder flounce bustier top. A hand-painted gardenia faille print is individually cut and hand-embroidered upon a strapless mini dress and collared blazer dress with high slit.
Hues of ochre, powder blue and peridot burst throughout on tailored suiting and within two hand-painted abstract landscape prints that float across silk chiffon caftans and billowing gowns. Wild sunflowers blossom upon a drop-waist threadwork cupcake dress and fasten a black shift style in polished gold hardware. A camel tiger print emboldens a chenille jacquard coat and matching pencil skirt, while a silk ecru tiger print caftan materializes as a vacation essential.
Crystal vine embroidery wraps the silhouettes of black and nude tulle evening gowns; glistening leaves scaling freely just as they radiate after spring’s first rainfall.
